How long is a fiber internet contract in the Philippines?
PLDT states a 36-month contract period on its Fiber Unli plans — three years. Other providers publish contract terms less clearly, and several do not state a lock-in period at all in their public materials. If you do not want a multi-year commitment, prepaid fiber like Converge Surf2Sawa has no contract.

Contract length is one of the least well-published facts in this market, and it is one of the most consequential. A three-year commitment on a service you cannot test first is a significant decision.
What we can and cannot confirm
- PLDT — 36 months, stated on PLDT Home's own fiber page. Verified.
- Converge, Globe, Sky postpaid — no contract length stated in the sources we can read. We show "not stated by source" rather than guessing.
- Converge Surf2Sawa, Globe GFiber Prepaid, DITO WoWFi — no contract, confirmed.
What to ask before signing
- What is the lock-in period, and what is the pre-termination fee if I leave early?
- Is the installation fee waived, financed, or payable upfront? Sky's TruFiber installation is reported at ₱2,500 upfront or ₱125 per month over 24 months.
- Is the advertised price promotional, and what does it revert to?
- What speed is guaranteed rather than "up to"?
