Fair Use Policy

Also called: FUP, fair use

A cap on how much full-speed data an "unlimited" plan gives you per day, after which your connection is slowed rather than cut off.

Almost every plan marketed as "unlimited" in the Philippines carries one. Airalo's unlimited eSIMs give 3GB per day at full speed and then throttle to roughly 1 Mbps; Nomad drops to 512 kbps; local operators apply their own daily allowances.

It matters because "unlimited" and "unlimited at usable speed" are different products at similar prices. If you plan to stream or hold video calls, the size of the daily allowance is the number to compare, not the word on the box.
