A one-off charge to connect a fixed internet line, separate from and often invisible in the advertised monthly price.

It changes the real cost substantially. Sky's TruFiber installation is reported at ₱2,500 upfront or ₱3,000 financed over 24 months; Globe GFiber Prepaid is a reported ₱699 with 7 days free; PLDT states no upfront cash-out on Fiber Unli applications.

When comparing plans, ask for the total over the first year rather than the monthly figure. A ₱999 plan with ₱3,000 of installation is not cheaper than a ₱1,299 plan with none.
