Is there 5G in the Philippines, and where does it work?
Yes. Smart, Globe, and DITO all operate 5G networks, concentrated in Metro Manila and major cities. Coverage outside urban centres is patchy, and most plans marketed as 5G fall back to LTE where 5G is unavailable — DITO's WoWFi Ultra, for instance, is rated up to 500 Mbps under good conditions.

What this means when buying
A plan branded "5G" is not a promise of 5G speeds at your location. It means the plan can use 5G where 5G exists, and LTE where it does not. If you are buying a 5G home internet kit specifically for the speed, check that 5G actually reaches your address before spending ₱4,990 on hardware.

Does a tourist need 5G?
Almost certainly not. LTE comfortably handles maps, messaging, streaming, and video calls. 5G is worth caring about for home internet where it substitutes for fiber, and for very heavy mobile use. For a normal trip it is a marketing word.
